Summary of the World Day of Prayer

On Friday, November 24, 2023, the Federation of Haitian Protestant Churches Abroad organized a significant event dedicated to spiritual unity and supplication for Haiti: the World Day of Prayer. The day was structured around various moments of prayer, meditation, and hymns, offering participants an opportunity to come together in faith and fellowship.

Order of Service and Activities

The day began at 6:00 AM with a prayer of repentance and spiritual cleansing. This session included scripture readings, communal hymns, and kneeling prayers. Participants were encouraged to reconcile with their enemies, renounce illicit relationships, and abandon occult practices.

At 7:00 AM, the prayer for national repentance took place. The faithful implored divine mercy for the crimes committed in Haiti, particularly violence and mass killings. This session emphasized the confession of national sins and the plea for forgiveness.

At 8:00 AM, a session dedicated to the nation's leaders occurred. Inspired by scriptures, participants prayed for wisdom and divine guidance for Haitian leaders, asking for leaders according to God’s heart.

At 9:00 AM, the prayer for church unity gathered participants around the High Priestly Prayer of John 17. The aim was to strengthen communion among church members and pray for a powerful spiritual revival.

At 10:00 AM, the prayer for Haiti’s deliverance addressed issues such as gang violence, poverty, and natural disasters. Participants prayed for the country's protection and prosperity, based on the promises in the Psalms.

The morning concluded at 11:00 AM with a session of hymns and prayers, meditating on the power of Jesus' name. The faithful sang and celebrated, preparing for the Midday Cry, a symbolic moment where the assembly proclaimed the name of Jesus while clapping for five minutes.

Solemn Service of Consecration of Haiti to the Lord

The afternoon was marked by a solemn service of consecration of Haiti to the Lord. This service included hymns, psalm readings, and a major pastoral prayer. A symbolic contract was read, revoking an old pact with death to replace it with a commitment to life and God. The clauses of this contract emphasized the importance of morality, biblical teaching, and national unity.

The day ended with the proclamation of the new national motto, "God Is Our Strength," and a consecration prayer for Haiti. An inspiring message based on Psalm 144:15 was delivered, reminding participants of divine blessings and protection.

This World Day of Prayer was a powerful moment of spirituality and solidarity, bringing the faithful together in a journey of faith and supplication for Haiti's future.
